Brand Refresh
Kit Design
Bike & Vehicle Design

Team Sky wanted a brand refresh to celebrate their 10th anniversary and final year. I designed the entire Team Sky range for 2019, including the various rider and training kits, bikes, supporting vehicles, and tour bus, as well as giving the brand a final makeover to celebrate the success of the team. The kit was voted the 'Best designed kit of the year 2019' by Cycling Weekly. I designed this project at Antidote. All photography by Russ Ellis.

Jersey

The new jersey reintroduced Team Sky’s distinct black aesthetic and featured an ocean blue gradient which linked it to their sponsor, Sky Ocean Rescue. The reverse of the jersey focused on the iconic blue line, an ever-present design touch over the last decade. Rider names were moved to the side of the jersey giving the back a clean minimal look. I worked with Castelli, the kit manufacturer, to ensure the colour, logo placement, and finish of the materials were true to the concept.

“The kit is a nice celebration of our tenth year in the peloton – I can see lots of our old designs in the new look for 2019. I’m looking forward to pulling it on in the new year.”

- Tour de France winner Geraint Thomas

“I love the look of the new kit. It’s a classic design and I can’t wait to race in it in 2019.”

- Four-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome

Bike

The road bike was predominantly black with a hint of the ocean blue in a radial gradient.

Guidelines

I created a set of vector guidelines which included racing, training and championship country jerseys, team bus, vehicles, bikes, and merchandise.
