June Pro

A contemporary sans-serif type family designed for clarity, flexibility and everyday use.

June Pro is a contemporary sans-serif family designed for clarity, flexibility and everyday use. Across 10 weights, true italics and a variable font, it is built to work across brand identities, editorial design, digital products and long-form reading.

The project began during a Masters in Type Design, with research into Adrian Frutigers work and typefaces including Avenir, Frutiger and Univers. This informed a wider exploration of legibility, proportion and rhythm, with June Pro developing into its own contemporary family with a clear and distinctive character.

Clarity with character

Clarity with character

June Pro is designed to work quietly when it needs to, without disappearing completely.

Simple proportions and open, readable forms create clarity at smaller sizes, while more distinctive details give the family enough character for headlines, identities and expressive typography.

The result is a typeface that feels precise and practical without becoming overly neutral.

A family with range

The family spans 10 weights from Thin to Heavy, supported by a variable font that allows more precise control across different applications and screen sizes.

True italics are drawn separately at a more upright eight-degree angle, rather than simply slanting the roman characters. Changes in shape, rhythm and construction give them their own voice while keeping them closely connected to the wider family. The gentler angle also helps maintain clarity and readability across longer passages.

A set of stylistic alternates, including an alternative Q, adds another level of flexibility. These characters can improve recognition in certain settings while allowing designers to shift between cleaner, more neutral typography and more distinctive applications.

Made to be used

A series of identity applications demonstrates how the family can move from clean and functional to more expressive and characterful, while retaining the same underlying clarity.

Published by Schriftlabor, June Pro is available through MyFonts, FontSpring and I Love Typography. It has since been used by brands around the world across identities, products and editorial design.
