The brief was to develop a cohesive global packaging direction for Starbucks’ At-Home range, bringing a wide portfolio of products together under one clear idea.

The challenge was to highlight the craft and precision behind Starbucks coffee, while keeping hold of the warmth, familiarity, and sense of magic people associate with the brand.

I developed Method Meets Magic, a packaging and campaign direction built around the balance between coffee-making expertise and the more emotional, iconic world of Starbucks.

The At-Home range covered multiple product types, each with its own role, audience, and energy. The system needed enough consistency for the range to feel connected, while still giving each category a clear personality.

Method Meets Magic brought two sides of Starbucks together: the methodical craft of coffee-making and the more enchanting, recognisable world of the Siren. Colour, illustration, finish, and information hierarchy were used to balance those two sides across the range, creating a direction that could flex across categories, products, and markets without losing the core Starbucks feeling.

Speciality focused on craft, origin, and premium detail. Neutral tones, regional accent colours, line-based illustration, gold foiling, and embossing helped give the range a more refined and provenance-led feel.
